If you're wanting to feel beautiful, sexy, stunning... a professional boudoir photo session can give you that feeling, boosting your confidence and letting you feel like a model for a day. Check out these 10 ways you can plan for the perfect boudoir photos to show off your beautiful self.
More than any other type of photo session, a boudoir shoot requires you to choose a photographer you can trust. If you don’t feel comfortable with the person taking your photos, your images will show it. You don’t want to look stiff and awkward, so choose a photographer who can help you relax and feel as beautiful as you are.
What better way to feel sexy than to dress up in new lingerie? Check out your favorite boutique for some sexy pieces or even go to Victoria’s Secret. If you're looking for some great places to shop, then you'll want a copy of our Preparing for Your Photoshoot guide which has the best places to shop online for lingerie regardless of body type! As part of your booking, you'll receive this special guide and a consultation to help walk you through what to wear and getting ready for your photoshoot!
Music at your boudoir session will make you feel more comfortable and confident. Take some time to create a playlist of your favorite songs—songs that make you feel strong, sexy, and powerful. When you come in for your photoshoot with Cory Powell Photography, we'll play whatever music you love or we do have a few playlists created - everything from 90s pop to country music to R&B.
Now, if you choose my studio for your photoshoot, you won't need to know how to pose. I truly believe that is what makes or breaks the skill of the photograph you choose and will directly impact your experience (and how awkward it all is)!
But many photographers don't know how to pose their clients so if you choose another photographer, you'll want to practice.
I'll be real, it is so helpful to practice but it may feel ridiculous! Don't be afraid to try out some poses before your shoot. Look through your favorite fashion magazines and try to imitate the models. Try arching your back and leaning forward. And above all, leave a little to the imagination.
It’s totally normal and okay to be nervous. Feeling nervous means two things: 1. you care (which is a good thing!) and 2. you’re outside of your comfort zone (which is awesome)! And don’t worry about what the photographer sees when they look at you—their job is to make you look gorgeous. They want to capture the best of you, and that’s exactly what they see.
